Install the app and turn on notifications

There's nothing to download from an app store. You add the site to your Home Screen and it behaves like an app. Notifications are set per device, so do this on each phone or computer you want alerts on. Pick your device:
Android phone · Chrome
Part 1 · Put the app on this device
1Open the site in Chrome and sign in
On your phone, open Chrome and go to schedule.cscbuild.com. Sign in with your username and password.
2Tap the three dots
They're at the top right corner of Chrome. A menu drops down.
3Tap “Add to Home screen”, then “Install”
Find Add to Home screen in the menu. On some phones it says Install app instead. Then tap Install on the box that pops up.
4Open the app from its new icon
The app is now on your Home screen with the orange CC icon. Open it from there from now on. Sign in again if it asks.
Part 2 · Turn on notifications
5Go to Account and tap “Turn on notifications”
Office logins: tap More at the bottom, then Account. Dealers and shop floor: Account is right on the bottom bar. Then tap the blue Turn on notifications button.
6Tap “Allow”
Your phone asks if the app may send notifications. Choose Allow. If you choose the other one by mistake, see the fixes at the bottom of this page.
7Watch for the test notification
A test arrives within a few seconds, and Account now shows a green On for this device. You're done. Use Send a test any time to check it still works.
If something doesn't work
- There's no “Add to Home screen” in the menu.
- Make sure you're in Chrome, not the Samsung Internet or Facebook browser, and that you're signed in. Look for “Install app” as well; newer versions of Chrome call it that.
- I tapped “Don't allow” by mistake.
- Press and hold the app's icon, tap App info (the small i), then Notifications, and switch them on. Go back to Account and tap Turn on notifications again.
- It says On, but nothing arrives.
- Check the phone isn't on Do Not Disturb. Then on Account tap Turn off, and Turn on notifications again. That gives the phone a fresh connection.
iPhone · Safari
Part 1 · Put the app on this device
1Open the site in Safari and sign in
Open Safari, the blue compass, and go to schedule.cscbuild.com. It has to be Safari for the next step. Sign in.
2Tap the Share button
It's the square with an arrow pointing up, in the middle of the bar at the bottom of Safari.
3Tap “Add to Home Screen”, then “Add”
Scroll down the list that slides up and tap Add to Home Screen. Then tap Add at the top right.
4Open the app from its new icon
Close Safari. Find the orange CC icon on your Home Screen and open the app from there. This matters: an iPhone only allows notifications when the app is opened from this icon. Sign in again.
Part 2 · Turn on notifications
5Go to Account and tap “Turn on notifications”

If something doesn't work
- Account doesn't show a Turn on button; it tells me to add the app to my Home Screen.
- You're looking at the site in Safari. Notifications on an iPhone only work when the app is opened from the orange CC icon on the Home Screen. Do steps 2 to 4, then open it from the icon.
- There's no “Add to Home Screen” in the Share list.
- Scroll further down the list; it's below the row of apps. If it still isn't there, you're probably in another browser. Open the site in Safari.
- It still doesn't offer notifications.
- The iPhone needs iOS 16.4 or newer. Check Settings, General, Software Update.
- I tapped “Don't Allow” by mistake.
- Open the iPhone's Settings, tap Notifications, find the app by name in the list, and switch on Allow Notifications. Then open the app and tap Turn on notifications again.
Computer · Chrome or Edge
Part 1 · Put the app on this device
1Open the site in Chrome or Edge and sign in
Go to schedule.cscbuild.com and sign in.
2Click the install icon, then “Install”
At the right end of the address bar there's a small screen with an arrow. Click it, then click Install. The app opens in its own window and gets its own icon on the desktop or taskbar. This step is optional on a computer: notifications also work in a normal browser tab.
Part 2 · Turn on notifications
3Go to Account and tap “Turn on notifications”
Click Account at the bottom of the menu on the left. Then click the blue Turn on notifications button.
4Tap “Allow”
Your browser asks if the app may send notifications. Choose Allow. If you choose the other one by mistake, see the fixes at the bottom of this page.
5Watch for the test notification
A test arrives within a few seconds, and Account now shows a green On for this device. You're done. Use Send a test any time to check it still works.
If something doesn't work
- I don't see the install icon.
- It only shows in Chrome and Edge, and only once the page has finished loading. You can also open the three-dot menu and choose “Cast, save and share”, then “Install page as app”. Installing is optional on a computer.
- It says notifications are blocked.
- Click the icon at the left end of the address bar, find Notifications, and set it to Allow. Reload the page and click Turn on notifications.
- It says On, but nothing shows.
- Windows may be hiding them. Open Windows Settings, System, Notifications, and check that notifications are on for Chrome or Edge and that Do Not Disturb is off.
